End of 7

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

The month of July has taught me that I need to be patient. I need to be understanding. I need more vacations and I need to look around at what I have as opposed to what I want. There is still a lot to do with the website, some parts need to be put together seamlessly but its still in good shape! I have a great blog spot, the music is up but still a few glitches. I need to edit the Go Skate footage from Skate City ASAP! but all of this just reminds me how fun it can be to get back on the board! Shed hooked me up with a new deck and I road it for the first time last night, Nice pop.. I haven’t felt that in a long time and I was very happy about it all. Thanks Shed for the hook-up and thanks Rhythm Skateshop for the grip tape..Without it I would constantly lose my footage..and speaking of footage, the demo clips will be done soon, I promise.

So the weekend is coming

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Even after a stressful werk week, I can say i’m still looking forward to a relaxing weekend.. possibly filled with ocean, shells, 30% chance of rains, thunderstorms or just partly cloudy.. I went skating yesterday with Byrd and Pete..it felt great just cruising around, talking old times, doing old school tricks in my case. Its good to know I can still go out and find someone I used to skate with regularly in the past, still doin’ it. Jeff and Nicky Motto hooked me with my first Shed deck and I promise to do my best at promoting it to the best of my abilities. I’m considering taking it to the beach this weekend for the set-up. If there’s one thing I used to love, that’s setting up a new board. I don’t think you can know exactly what I’m talking about unless you’ve done it before. It’s similar to fixing up a bike or possibly a broken car..pulling out the drive-way and just happy with accomplishment. That’s the feeling right there. It sort of feels like how calm you get as you first step foot on the beach sand and set up a spot..crack a beer and sip…or at least I’ll find out this weekend.

Tuesdays release days

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

So hello world! how’s life? Everything has been good for me this week! nothing major, just trying to stay on top of everything around me. I wanted to tell the skaters in the area to support your local skateshops and skateparks! They are here because there is a demand and without your support, there wouldn’t be anything available for doing what you love. Even this fine city has to realize how big it is and how important it is to us that there is some sort of backbone connected to this monster. What holds you back? (no pun intended) What stops you from going out there and doing what you love besides the weather? So get out and skate something.. let Augusta know you are here. Let them see you as they drive past..wave at them if you have to as they stare at you. Make yourself known. Oh and.. speaking of releases… here, from send space to you, copy this link into your browser and get ready to download the entire new NAS album. Untitled for a few reasons.. Look it up if you must, but grab you a copy. YOU ARE WELCOME!

ASA UPDATERBLE

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

well I’ve got to learn that there is a time-out switch on my website, it forces me to write superfast or it kicks me off.. I had updates on the ASA skateboarding deal.. and it was wiped out into WWW-blackholes. In a nut shell, there was another meeting at the public park and it was brought to our attention that the Parks & Rec Dept. has added the $10,000 to the budget..making it almost $13,000 for either renovations, or concrete pouring. Im going for the concrete slab.. but I got in touch with a local concrete company and wrote them about maybe supplying us with their left-over concrete on a few jobs, just tell us when they are done and we’ll get someone to point the truck in the direction of a corner of the park! Well, the lady I spoke with said that due to the economy, there is nothing they could do to support us at the present time. Well, thanks. It’s not going to bring anyone down, it was a long shot. I just have to cross Augusta Ready-Mix off the list. There was hope.. hope in the form of Columbia County..a meeting that took place Thursday July 10th at 6pm in the county events center..approx 50 people showed up to add to the vote of the SPLOST (for more info on the SPLOST definition check out my article on the werkable homepage.) We went and witnessed the County argue over adding $ towards a lodge/congnac sipping clubhouse to Bertram Trail Golf Course. I have nothing against golf..I am against a county that has almost 35 soccer fields, 20-something baseball fields…and NO SKATE PARK? We decided to add a public park into consideration to the SPLOST proposal..and it was documented that day… so, on election day in November, maybe it will appear on the ballot or maybe they run things different and its just a vote to accept the SPLOST and 2 years down the line the vote for recreation $ via SPLOST will hit the Columbia County Area. By then, this district will grow big enough to listen..yet still small enough to give Richmond County a battle for Public Domain…Someone break out a classic Powell Peralta vid please. There is the update. I’d like to welcome SHED Skateboards to my site..hit the banner and get over to their website.. local skaters..doing it real big!

3rd of July!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

so..lot’s of things going on for the 4th? no? really? but we should be celebrating our country’s independence! YUP! break out your sparklers, you Uncle Sam Top Hat and your festive american colors! Even though we are in the midst of a recession, there is always american pride. I’m not anti-anything. If at all, I’m pro-errrythang. I do believe that the powers that be, or that are becoming cannot be controlled by 1 single vote. I also believe that one man cannot rule the U.S. and Im thankful for the Senate & the House of Representatives who get over-looked when choosing a new president. We have so much talk about what political party you are affiliated with that we forget the big picture. The biggest being.. who will help negotiate cheaper oil prices? or help push tax money out of the war on drugs and into the development of new resources for running our cars. I’m not anywhere near what you would call a political know-it-all. I just know that everyone I’ve talked to wants gas back down to AT LEAST $1.50. I’m aware that most oil is coming from the middle east.. and Im fully aware that the tragedy that happened to us on 911 had a lot to do with Saudi Arabian pilots..yet, we still keep our presence in Iraq. There are still Taliban.. and for as long as I can remember from back in my days in Germany, there are still terrorists that roll in small groups/cells/crowds.. whatever you call them. We have to help ourselves in times of stress. There is so much to be thankful for, and so much we take for granted. I’ve lost a friend on the 3rd of July a few years ago and also one on the 30th of June this year..life still goes on and their friendship will live on with me forever. I just wanted to say a few words about this great country without sounding too negative. I wanted everyone to be safe this holiday season.. and don’t let the irony of driving on a vacation and getting into an accident to or from it, cause you to blame the economy. Stress is all around us. But it’s still not too late to celebrate life, freedon and democracy, no matter how hard it seems to be right now. We will get thru this..together, as long as you keep an open mind and a loving heart.
I’m trying to update some stuff on the site, the associates mp3 section needs some stuff along with the random mp3’s.. so.. in the meantime, if you feel like grabbing the new Lil Wayne album in it’s entirety.. here is my send space link… because he is my top pick of the month! its a gift from me to you!
